Event Details

Focused on policy considerations for economic response and recovery planning around disaster, this forum is designed to share national best practices and provide policy leaders an opportunity to network and determine what works best in the community. 

Highlights include:

Shannon Meyer, President of the Fox Cities Chamber, will share experiences and recommendations based on the Cedar Rapids Chamber’s role assisting almost 1,000 businesses affected by the 2008 flood there. (bio)
Jeffery Finkle, President of IEDC (International Economic Development Council), will use examples from the Gulf Oil Spill to highlight far-reaching impacts of a non-local disaster and introduce a new online resource for local economic organizations. (bio)

Come ready to listen, learn, share, and connect with other stakeholders. Help identify, understand, and improve the options available to assist business owners and the local economic region when impacted by a disaster.
